Volunteer Opportunity

The Jackson County Parks Department is seeking volunteer campground hosts for Pleasant Lake and Swains Lake campgrounds.

In exchange for assisting the campground staff with duties such as helping campers find their campsites, answering camper questions, performing light park maintenance duties, and providing a watchful eye, campground hosts enjoy waived camping fees.

Both individuals and couples may apply for volunteer positions that begin as early as Memorial Day weekend and last through Labor Day weekend. Volunteer hosts must be 18 years of age and provide their own camping equipment, food and other personal items.

Interested volunteers should complete an application found below. Hosts are screened and interviewed by park staff and selected based on familiarity with the park system, camping experience, availability and knowledge of the area.
For information or questions, contact Kyle Lewis at 517-768-2919 or klewis@co.jackson.mi.us.
