Enjoy the fun of camping in Jackson County
You don’t have to go far to go camping. Two modern lakeside campgrounds are part of the park system: Pleasant Lake Park in Henrietta Township and Swains Lake Park just south of Concord. Each campground is situated on a lake and offers a variety of camping options, including non-electric and both 30 and 50 amp campsites, playgrounds, picnic shelters, showers, and swimming areas. Whichever way you prefer to camp – RV or tent – the mature trees and lush grounds will make you feel like you are far from suburbia. Positioned on the lakeshore, spend your day enjoying this all-sports lake. Go for a swim off the beach, or put your boat in the water at the nearby public boat launch to fish for perch or enjoy a cruise around the lake. Even off the water there’s plenty to do! Start a horseshoe or shuffle board tournament, learn to play GaGa Ball, and bring your clubs for a round at Hankard Hills Golf Course.

At Swains Lake Campground you’ll enjoy a campsite overlooking the lake and shaded by sprawling trees - it’s like being in the middle of the forest, but with the amenities you desire. Explore the area by taking a hike on nature trails, or go for a bike ride on the near-by Falling Waters Trail. Launch your boat directly from the park for a day on the water. Don’t forget your fishing gear because this lake is stocked with rainbow trout and is ideal for shore fishing.
